  • Year 11 Leavers - key dates and information

    Dear Parent/Carer

    Friday 16th June

    The majority of students will complete their final examinations during the morning of Friday 16th June. From this date, if your child does not have any further exams or BTEC work to complete then they can leave the Academy from 10.20am. On Friday 16th June any students that are entitled to Free School Meals can purchase snacks or sandwiches using their allowance during break time.

    Any students who study Triple Science, Classical Civilisation, Statistics, Product Design or Graphics are still expected to attend these lessons.

     

    BTEC students are required to attend the following sessions:

    Music: Mondays, 8.40am – 11.30 am

    PE: Throughout June, arrangements made individually with students and parents.

    Business: Wednesday, 8.40am – 11.30am.

     

    Students Leavers Assembly – Friday 23rd June:

    (Some students will be sitting a physics exam at 8.40am)

    10.20 – Arrive to the Academy in full school uniform (shirt signing)

    10.40 – Year 11 final leavers assembly

    11.10 – Final goodbye

    11.30 – All students are required to be off site

     

    Year 11 Prom - Wednesday 28th June  

    The Prom will be at Ashton Court Mansion and tickets for this special event will need to be purchased by Friday 9th June. Payment can be made by cash or cheque at the main BBA reception. Please make cheques payable to ‘Cabot Learning Federation’.

     

    Locker Keys

    Please can you remind your child to return their locker key to reception as soon as their last exam has finished and collect their £3 deposit.  Please ensure that lockers are emptied and left clean. Any contents left behind will be donated to charity.

     

    Ties and blazers

    Please can you donate ties and blazers to the Academy, so we can re-use them. Please leave them with reception, or hand to Mr White, Mrs Roscoe or Ms Cusack.

    Library Books

    Please can your child return any books that they may have been given or borrowed from the library or teachers during their time at the Academy.

     

    Results Day – Thursday 24 August

    Please come to the area outside the Library between 9.00am and 12.00pm to pick up your Results Day envelope.

    This will contain a Statement of Results sheet listing all your GCSE grades. There may also be other documentation in the envelope (such as an appeals form or an ECDL certificate), so please study everything clearly before you put it away safely. 
     

    Students can make enquiries regarding Post 16 courses on this day by calling John Cabot Academy on 0117 9882525 between 10.00am and 12.00noon, or e-mail admissions@clfpost16.org.

     

    Certificates for the Summer 2017 exams will not be available for you to receive until mid-November.

     

    CLF Post 16 Enrolment Day - Friday 25 August at John Cabot Academy. 

    All Year 11 students are required to attend enrolment onto courses during this day between 9.00am and 2.00pm. Enrolment will also be open on Tuesday 29 August and Wednesday 30 August. Please email admissions@clfpost16.org with any enquiries you may have.

     

    CLF Post 16 Year 12 Induction Day – Friday 1 September at Bristol Brunel Academy

    This will be the first day of Term 1 for Year 12 Post 16 students. Students will be required to arrive in school by 9.00am.

    The Languages Department are organising a five day trip to Paris in July 2017.  For more details and the letter that was sent home to parents please click here.

    A collective (or group) passport is a way for an organised group of young people to make a trip to certain European countries.  The academy will need to obtain a Nationality questionnaire and consent form.  The Nationality questionnaire and consent form (‘CPNQ’ form) must be filled in by the person who can give consent for the child to travel.  Please click on the relevant link below to download the questionnaire.  This will need to be handed in to the Academy for the attention of Mrs Miles.
